Unit 1
Measurement and Conservation of Matter
ISLE Chemistry is a set of chemistry curriculum learning sequences that help students learn chemistry through practicing it. The materials are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and use the same Investigative Science Learning Environment approach as PUM.
The learning sequences are logically connected and support students in building conceptual understanding, developing mathematical reasoning, and learning to think like scientists through investigation and evidence.
Measurement and Conservation of Matter
Gasses
Discovery of Elements and Compounds
Atomic Structure
Electrons and Periodicity
Bonding, Matter and Energy, Nuclear Chemistry
Each learning sequence includes lesson activities, historical development of ideas, scientific readings, and structured opportunities for students to build and apply understanding.
Materials also include practice questions, formative and summative assessments, detailed instructor guides, and video experiments when needed.
